Passed peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 1, 2024.

Predeceased by his loving wife of nearly 70 years, Marilyn; and his parents, Colin and Margaret.

Loving father to Peter, Jan Nelson (Jeff), Matthew, Tom and Andrew; and adoring grandfather to Emma, Jess and Colin. Colin was born in Vineland in 1928, and graduated from the University of Toronto in the class of 1949.

He later attended Osgoode Hall Law School and was admitted to the bar in 1953. Colin was a founding partner of Hicks Morley Hamilton Stewart Storie LLP. He was a past chairman of the board of Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital and a long-time member of Wellington Square United Church.

Colin enjoyed travelling with his wife, fishing and family dinners. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. A. Grzeslo and the many healthcare workers who supported him at home.

Visitation at Smith’s Funeral Home, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall), Burlington, (905) 632-3333, on Wednesday, February 14th from 4-8 p.m.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 15th at 10 a.m. at Wellington Square United Church, 2121 Caroline St., Burlington.

If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
