CONNELL, Kevin Hubert O’Connell

we lost a special light in our lives with the passing of Kevin Hubert O’Connell after a brief illness. Devoted husband to Beata, father to Kyle and Brett (Jessica) and kitty Chiquita, step-father to Faara and Sava, and step-grandfather to Logan. Beloved son of Joyce and Victor (both deceased), loving brother to Brian (Emmanuela), Kathleen, and Graham (Sue), uncle to Stephanie, Sean, Michele, Ryan, Maureen (Nick), Clayton (Alyssa), Joanne (Mike). Michael (Kayla), Andrew (Vanessa), great-niece Mya, and great-nephews Colton, Nixon, and Hudson, and Fur-father to many cats and dogs over his lifetime.

Growing up in parts of the Northwest Territories, Alberta, and Ontario, Kevin has always lived for the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting with family, friends, and especially his two sons. He had a gentle spirit and imparted his wisdom without ego. He was knowledgeable on many subjects and very skilled, not only in environmental stewardship and outdoor activities, but also in carpentry and cabinet making, structural design and home building, leatherworking, and animal husbandry, raising sheep, chickens, and muscovy ducks with Beata on their farm in Newtonville. His love of animals and the outdoors will carry on in his sons and daughter-in-law, treasuring the two beautiful cedar-strip canoes they built with him and enjoyed on many adventures together.

“It is the secret of the world that all things subsist and do not die, but retire a little from sight and afterwards return again.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson
