CONWAY, Patrick Joseph — Patrick Joseph Conway, affectionately known as Pat to his friends and family, was born on December 30, 1942, in Kirkland Lake. Pat’s journey came to a close with family at his side on August 14, 2025, in Sault Ste. Marie at Extendicare Maple View. His battle with cancer was fought with the same resilience and grace that characterized his 82 years.

Pat is predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Lila, and his cherished daughter, Andrea. Pat was a devoted father to his surviving children, Kelly (Casey Enright); Tracey; Christian; and Trisha (Phillip Volpe), who added joy to his life. He was a proud papa to his grandchildren, Holly, Leah and Sean.

He will be deeply missed by his siblings: Wayne (Carol Anne); Richard (Susy); Michael (Eileen); Mary; Martin; and William. Pat was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, whose lives he touched with his warmth and wisdom.

Pat’s professional life was marked by a deep sense of duty and service, as he proudly wore the uniform of the Ontario Provincial Police, followed by a career he truly enjoyed as a heavy-duty mechanic with Denison Mines. During his stay at Maple View, he used his legal knowledge while serving on the resident’s council to advocate for his fellow residents.

A devout Christian, Pat’s faith was the cornerstone of his existence. He was an active member of his church, where he not only found solace but also gave back through his service and contributions to the community. His religious devotion was matched by his love for singing, a passion that he shared with his family and friends during get-togethers. He was often heard serenading his friends with his lovely voice.

Beyond his professional and spiritual commitments, Pat was a man of many interests. He had a craftsman’s hands and an artist’s eye, which he expressed through woodworking and photography. The great outdoors was his sanctuary, where he found happiness in hunting and fishing, pursuits that brought him closer to nature.

Pat’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of those who knew him. His was a life well-lived, full of moments that weaved a tapestry of memories cherished by his family and friends. As we bid farewell to Pat, we remember a man whose life was a testament to the power of kindness, the strength of family, and the enduring spirit of community.

Pat would appreciate charity and kindness in his memory through donations to the Sault Community Health Center or the local foodbank of your choice (payable online or by check). Cremation has taken place at River’s Edge Cremation Centre, followed with a service in Kirkland Lake at a later date.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, as his memory continues to guide and inspire us.
