COOKSON , Stephen John Cookson

Stephen John Cookson, of St. Marys, passed away peacefully at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on August 25, 2025 at the age of 63.

Beloved son of the late Gordon G. Cookson (2007) and Joyce Irene Cookson (nee Watson) (2016). Loving brother of Tom and Kathy Cookson, Vicki and Terry Barber, Barry and Sherry Cookson, Gordon and Lesley Cookson all of St. Marys. Proud Uncle of Scott (Allisha), Melissa (Harry), T.J. (Leigh), Amanda, Matt, Gordie (Nicole), Caroline (Shawn), John and Jaden (Marissa). He was predeceased by his grandparents Clayton Watson and the former Edna Bruce, Eleazor Cookson and the former Laura Aldis, Aunts Eleanor Watson, Joyce Louise Cookson, Elizabeth Brown and Mary Lou Lessard, Uncles Roy McCurdy, Donald Cookson, Grant Cookson, Wayne Lessard, and a nephew Benjamin Cookson. Stephen was always a happy soul with a smile on his face.

Stephen attended the former Portia School in Stratford and later worked at the James Purdue Center, St. Marys. Stephen loved going to the trailer with Mom and Dad and never turned down a chance to go out for lunch.

Cremation has taken place. A Private Family Service will be conducted at St. Marys Cemetery.
