COUTO, Manuel Ferreira do Couto

Passed away surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his three children, David, Adrienne, and Elizabeth, three grandchildren, Mikaela, Zoe, and Alex, and two brothers, Jose and Hermano.
Born in Ribeira Seca, SaΓ΅ Miguel, Portugal, Manuel moved with his family to Canada in his teenage years. He settled in Kingston, Ontario, where he met his late wife, Crisalia. It’s there that they built their home, raised their children, and where Manuel also served as an active member of his local parish.

Manuel was loyal, steadfast, and a perfectionist who didn’t just want to get things done – he wanted things done properly. He held membership in the same Carpenters Union for over 50 years, and is remembered for never cutting corners and taking great pride in his work.
When he moved to Toronto in 2013 to be closer to his daughters, he brought his kind and helpful spirit to his new community. He was always eager to help his neighbours, to forge connections with members of the community, and to lend his time volunteering.
Manuel will be remembered as a loyal, loving and dedicated husband, father, grandparent, partner, and community member. His curious, adventurous, and kind spirit will live on with his friends and loved ones.
A visitation will take place on Friday, January 2nd from 6-8 p.m. at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Avenue West. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Monica’s Parish, 44 Broadway Avenue, on Saturday, January 3rd at 12 p.m.
