William “Bill” Ernest Coverdale

With sadness we announce Bill’s unexpected passing at home on Thursday November 27, 2025 at the age of 74. He will be deeply missed by Judy his wife of 45 years. He was the proud and loving father of twin daughters Jennifer (Tom Stoffelsen) of Brantford and Victoria of Strabane (Nick Rolfe). “Best Grampa Ever” of Thomas Stoffelsen who held a special place in his heart. Survived by sister Beverly Parnaby of Campbellville, brother in law Greg Fellowes of Dundas, nephews, niece, great nephews, great nieces, cousins & multiple fur grandbabies. Bill grew up on a dairy farm in Cedar Springs but chose to become a mechanic, a trade at which he excelled for 40+ years. Bill was a stickler for details, took great pride in everything he did and lived by the golden rule “Be the job big or small, do it well or not at all”. Bill could often be found in the garage cranking the tunes working on cars or helping friends and neighbors. His mechanical and recycling mindset meant no piece of scrap metal was safe once he got his hands on it. Bill loved Fords, animals, a good hamburger, peach pie and was a willing guinea pig when Judy or the girls tried a new recipe. Many hours were spent with his daughters and their horses at the barn & travelling to horse shows. Bill will be remembered for his happy nature and love of a good joke.

Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit with the family at Kitching, Steepe & Ludwig Funeral Home, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 6 – 8 p.m. and Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 10 -11 am followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. (service will be livestreamed). A reception will follow in the Kitching, Steepe & Ludwig Family Centre and interment at Bethel Memorial Chapel and Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s name to Hamilton Animal Services or your charity of choice would be appreciated by his family.
