COYNE, Mildred ‘Millie’ Coyne Obituary

COYNE, Mildred ‘Millie’ – Peacefully with her daughter by her side Millie Coyne passed away at Vision Nursing Home on September 29, 2015 in her 93rd year.

Beloved wife of the late Nelson (1996). Loving Mother of Penny and son-in-law Norm Pavey. Cherished Grandmother of Kevin (Holli) Burlington, and Brett (Lisa) Sarnia. Dear Great Grandmother to Aiden, Carson, Connor and Logan who referred to her as GG. A special Aunt and Great-Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Loved sister of Ivy Peterson of Saskatchewan and sister-in-law of Nellie Fullerton of Hamilton, Jackie Coyne of Wawa, Shirl Coyne of Trenton, and Bill Feniak of Edmonton. A very good friend to Walt and Fran Farr and Grandma “B” to their family. Predeceased by 8 siblings.

Millie was born and raised in Saskatchewan but spent most of her married years in Wawa and Sarnia, Ontario. She was a very social and active lady. She volunteered at Bluewater Health for many years, enjoyed lawn and carpet bowling, had over 500 visits to Curves and loved a game of cards.

Mom spent 5 and a half years at Vision between the Rest Home and the Nursing Home–we could not have asked for a better place to be. She received excellent care from each and everyone of the exceptional staff and by Dr. Gannon and Lynne Withers N.P.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 14 at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line in Sarnia, Ontario from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

A memorial service will be held in the same location on Thursday, October 15 at 11:30 a.m.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through donations to Vision Nursing Home, the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
