CROMBIE, Hazel Dianne Crombie
May 28, 1947 - February 23, 2026It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Dianne Crombie at the Peterborough Health Centre surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Catherine Ormiston. Beloved wife of Raymond Crombie. Devoted loving mother of Shaun Whalen (Kim). Loving step-mother of Shane Crombie (deceased) (Terese) and Joel Crombie (Shannon). Dear sister of Bea Hancock and brother, David Ormiston (Mary).
Dianne’s pride and delight were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly and profoundly missed by them and by her nephews, nieces and extended family members. Dianne had many wonderful friends in her life and will be remembered for her kindness, quiet humor and strength. She leaves a legacy of love, compassion and devotion to family. Dianne had many cats that she loved throughout her lifetime and leaves behind her newest family addition, Jasper.
Dianne was primarily raised in Bowmanville. She graduated from Bowmanville High School and was employed as an executive secretary at General Motors Oshawa until her retirement. Dianne and Raymond were residing in Wilmot Creek for 15 years prior to her death. Dianne excelled at sports and was an avid ball player, bowler, curler and golfer.
Dianne was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. The love for her family was boundless, and her spirit will live on in the memories she leaves behind. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in the countless beautiful memories she left us.
In keeping with Dianne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ontario SPCA and/or the Humane Society.
