CROSSFIELD, Fiona June Crossfield
June 1, 1950 - November 11, 2025
Our dear Fiona June Crossfield passed away unexpectantly on November 11, 2025. She was born in Calgary, Alberta and is predeceased by her loving parents, Isobel Crossfield and Dr. Paul Crossfield. Fiona is survived by her brother, Mark Crossfield, her nieces, Claire Crossfield and Rachel Crossfield, of Calgary, Alberta and cousins, Andrew, Heather and Anna and numerous other cousins throughout the world. Fiona is also survived by her beloved dogs, Cloud, Max, Arabella, Urlatchke (Latchka), Safedi and Asterion (Tir).
Fiona was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta to a loving family until she graduated from high school at age 17 and moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, where she lived the rest of her life until the age of 75. In her youth, Fiona excelled in academics, piano, opera signing and sports. She was an avid skier, tennis player, and loved horses. Fiona and her family had a beautiful dog named Zoltan, a Samoyed, who began her lifelong love of the breed and raising Samoyed dogs. There were many beautiful Christmases, family holidays and our home was full of music and love.
Fiona received her undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia. Initially she became a chartered accountant and worked for a number of years throughout Canada and the United States. In 1984 she received her law degree from the University of British Columbia and began practicing law in Vancouver.
While Fiona enjoyed her professions, her true love was for her dogs, breeding and showing them. She became a well renowned Samoyed breeder. Fiona showed her dogs in international shows with tremendous success. A number of her dogs won awards. She would often say “they are my babies” and they were. They brought great happiness to her life. She enjoyed being a part of the Samoyed community and had many friends in the community.
Fiona was a kind, thoughtful, generous, and intelligent woman. She had a beautiful laugh; “te he he.” Her love and passion for her dogs remained until the day she passed.
