CUMMER, Daniel Frederick Cummer

After a short illness, Daniel Frederick Cummer, passed away peacefully at Western Hospital in Toronto on December 6, 2025, at the age of 76, in the loving arms of his daughter, Leslie.

Dan’s life was not without challenges, but he was blessed with a devoted family who brought him his greatest joy.

Born in Strathroy to Ralph and Marion Cummer, Dan was the fourth child in the family. He was predeceased by his sister Susan in 2018 and is survived by his sisters Janet and Martha. Dan grew up in Strathroy and began his career at Craftmaster. When the company relocated to Toronto in 1970, he moved with it. There, he met Marilynne, and in 1985 they married. In 1989, they welcomed their daughter Leslie, who later graduated in nursing from Western University. In 2017, Leslie married John Kahyayan, and together they have two daughters, Lucine and Lila.

Dan will be remembered as a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures: spending time with family, savoring good food, watching sports, laughing at sitcoms, and appreciating the beauty of nature. He had a special love for gardening and photography. Before becoming parents, Dan and Marilynne shared many adventures hiking in Ontario’s scenic parks and attending air shows. One of Dan’s most endearing qualities was his ability to dream.

A private family service will be held at Denning’s of Strathroy, followed by interment at Strathroy Cemetery.
