Helen loved her farm life and her family. Her passions were flowers, gardening, quilting, weaving, sewing, and antiquing. Helen was always happiest when attending church, working hard, and spending time with family. She took pride in creating quilts for her children and grandchildren. She and her husband enjoyed many busy years of dairy and sheep farming at the Currie family farm in East Wawanosh, and retired together in Wingham. Helen was an active member of the Whitechurch Women’s Institute, the Quilting Group, the Wingham Horticultural Society, the Wingham Historical Society, the Weaver’s Guild, the Wingham Happy Gang, and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Helen later moved to the Sepoy Manor Retirement Home in Lucknow and then to Moira Place Long Term Care, Tweed. She enjoyed crafts, painting, reading, card games, puzzles, movies with friends. She was truly grateful to the wonderful and caring staff at these homes. She will be forever missed, loved, and remembered for her strength, resilience, and resourcefulness. Helen was our Gorrie girl with grit. Rest in peace, dear mom.
