Maurice Burnell Cusack, affectionately known as Bernie, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, at the Port Colborne Complex and Urgent Care Centre, at the age of 88. He was cared for with compassion by the palliative care team during his final days.

Bernie is survived by his loving wife Patricia, and his children Terry (Cindy), Pat (Laura), Cliff (Michelle), Gerry, and Karen (Dan). He was a devoted grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Frances (2005), whose memory he cherished.

Known for his incredible strength, sharp wit, and endless humor, Bernie brought smiles to everyone around him. He faced life’s challenges with grace and laughter, always placing family and friends above all.

In accordance with his wishes, Bernie will be cremated and laid to rest beside Frances at the St. Catharines Victoria Lawn Cemetery. A celebration of his life will take place this summer at his final home, where memories will be shared among those who loved him.
