DALEY, Carolyn Daley
March 26, 1946 - April 7, 2026
80 years. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on April 7, 2026. Predeceased by her husband Jack Daley (2020), and her parents Jack (1978) and Kay May (2016). Loving mother to Jennifer Daley-Stewart (Bob), Matthew Daley (Vanessa), Elizabeth Townsend (Adam), and Sheila Slaney (Stewart) who was raised in Richmond Hill by Joan and Jim Flett. Cherished Nana to Nathanael, Jonah, Thomasin, Noah, Sophie, Henry, Lauren, and Spencer (Emma). Dear sister to Bryan May (Sheena). Sister-in-law to Anne Charters-Klaver (Clayton). Will be sadly missed by her cousins Barb (Randy) and Nancy along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends across Canada, the USA and England.
Carolyn Daley and Jack were married in 1971 in Toronto where they had their three children. They moved their young family to Montreal and then to Halifax, eventually returning to Ontario settling in St. Clair Beach. Despite many relocations over the years, Carolyn was able to create long-lasting friendships wherever she went. She retired after 30-plus years at the Windsor Symphony Orchestra which gave her more time to focus on her gardens, knitting, her pets, and grandchildren.
A lung cancer survivor for nearly 40 years, Carolyn developed COPD in the last decade of her life. She was not deterred from living her life to the fullest. It was only in the final months of her life that the disease limited her mobility and eventually made it difficult for her to pursue her interests and passions.
Carolyn’s family would like to thank Orma Bazinet who provided in-home care and friendship and the doctors and nurses on the 4th floor at Windsor Regional Hospital (Ouellette Campus). A special thank you to her palliative care team: Dr. Cassidy, Dr. Jervis, and her nurse, Victoria. We will be forever grateful for your compassionate care.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – South Chapel, 3048 Dougall Avenue (519-253-7236) on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Donations to Windsor-Essex County Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
