ATTWELL, David John  – First born of Douglas and Enid in Belleville on June 19, 1943.

Passed on March 4, 2024 at Case Manor Care Home in Bobcaygeon.

Big brother to Patti and Ricky. Uncle to Megan, Michael, Blake, Allison, Lucas and Benjamin.

Former spouse of Mary; and lifelong friend and former spouse, Lorna.

Dave’s only employer was IBM Canada, where he proudly worked for 27 years.

Around this time, Ricky and Colleen had twin boys, and although Dave had been absent, Colleen decided to reach out to him and demanded that he meet her and the boys.

Dave complied and the rest is history, Dave took an instant liking to them and in 2013, Colleen decided Dave should live with them full time and they started the hunt for a home large enough to accommodate us all, hence our move to Bobcaygeon, where Dave enjoyed the boys and shopping trips to Costco with Colleen.

Dave stayed for around 5 years until deteriorating health led him to Case Manor.

Dave was a true Canadian, his final words were “thank you.”

Thanks to the nurses and PSW’s and the entire staff at Case Manor for their caring and compassion. Special thanks to Colleen, who brought my brother back to me, and watched over him.

Cremation has taken place.
