It is with great sadness that David’s family announce that he passed away peacefully, in Ottawa, Tuesday, November 14, 2023, of kidney failure.

 

Born in East York in 1945 to Dr. A. J. Bush (deceased 2010) and Gertude Bush (deceased 2002).

 

He leaves behind brothers, John (Kate), Wilbert, Larry (Penny), Robert (deceased 2022); and sister, Carol; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He retired as a teacher and coach in Toronto at East End High School, Lakeview Secondary School, West Park Secondary School, CALC, and Central Commerce Collegiate Institute.

 

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying canoeing, camping, fishing, hunting, skiing, and making maple syrup.

 

A well-travelled worldwide voyager who enjoyed all things related to food and beverage. His advice was to “do things while you can.”

 

Dave wished no funeral, and for his ashes to be spread along with those of his wife, Mary (deceased 2009), in the La Cloche mountains, overlooking Iroquois Bay of Lake Huron.

 

Donations may be made in his name to Hospice Care Ottawa – May Court, where he received outstanding care.
