DEGROOT, Ann DeGroot

Peacefully, with her husband Doug by her side, on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Bluewater Health – Palliative Care, Ann DeGroot went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 72 after a brief battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Douglas DeGroot of 52 years. Loving mother of Jodi (Greg) Primmer, Tressa (Dean) Abram, Michael (Kristeen) DeGroot, and Bradley (Heidi) DeGroot. Cherished grandmother of Erik, Wesley, Eli, Tyler, Seth, Alyssa, Mya, Evan, Joslin, Brooklyn, Michael, Isabella, and Madison. Dear sister of Alice (Geert) Hofstra of Holland, and Sid (Debbie) Veenbaas. Remembered by the Veenbaas family, and DeGroot in-laws, several nieces and nephews, and friends. Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Betty Veenbaas and in-laws Anton and Ida DeGroot. The family wishes to thank the Bluewater Health – Palliative Care staff and Dr. MacSweeney for their special care and compassion. A private family burial has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at Lakeshore Community Church, 2815 Old Lakeshore Rd., Brights Grove, on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Lakeshore Community Church (cheques only at the funeral home please).
