DELANEY, Terry Delaney

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Mark Joseph Delaney, who passed away peacefully at Headwaters Hospital in Orangeville, Ontario on August 21, 2025, at the age of 65.

Born in Toronto, Ontario on September 3, 1959, Terry was the beloved son of the late Lucy (Morrell) Racicot, with whom he shared a deep and loving bond. He carried his mother’s warmth, humor, and resilience with him throughout his life.

Terry worked in many fields over the years, but above all he was a man who enjoyed both using his mind and working with his hands. He spent much of his career as a mechanic and a computer technician, and for the past decade he dedicated himself to his role as an apartment maintenance technician. No matter the job, Terry brought his problem-solving spirit and strong work ethic with him every day.

A lifelong Toronto sports fan, Terry never stopped cheering for his beloved Maple Leafs. He loved classic rock music, cheesy B-movies, and offbeat TV shows. With a sharp wit and a wonderful sense of humor, Terry was always ready with a joke, often laughing at himself and reminding those around him not to take life too seriously.

Above all, Terry cherished his family. He is survived by his children Kyle (Suzi), Zach (Sarah), and Beth (Dean); his siblings Genevieve (Rick), Nicole, and Mark (Tammy); and his grandchildren Daisy, Hudson, Isla, and Summer. He was predeceased by his siblings Steve, Danny, and Debbie.

Terry’s presence, laughter, and love will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 6, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Alton Legion Branch 449, 1267 Queen Street West, Alton, Ontario L7K 0C4. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Terry’s memory.
