DELIS, Syliva Barbara Marie Delis

It is with love and gratitude that the family of Sylvia Barbara DeLisa announces her passing on Tuesday, October 28th, at the Margaret Bahen Hospice, with her family by her side — fittingly, as she watched her beloved Blue Jays play. She was 92 years of age and a cherished resident of Sharon Corners Retirement Home.

Born in London, England, Sylvia built a life filled with strength, humour, and deep devotion to her family. She was the proud mother of Carol (Joe) Ermilio and Catherine (Russell – deceased). She will be fondly remembered as “Grandma” to Jessica (Adam), Alicia, Brianna (Calan), Michael, Jenna (Gregg)and Karina (Angus) and as “Great-Grandma” to Harper, Georgia, Summer and Finnley. Sylvia was also a loving sister to June Morris and Roy Bongers(deceased).

Throughout her life, Sylvia worked as an administrative assistant, where her keen attention to detail and kind spirit touched many. Beyond her professional life, she found joy in swimming, travelling, and writing short stories — passions that reflected her curiosity and zest for life.

Her family will remember her for her warmth, wit, and unwavering love.

A private family gathering will be held in her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Margaret Bahen Hospice, whose care and compassion brought comfort to Sylvia and her loved ones.
