DEMORE, Donald Demore
December 15, 2025Β Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Don passed away on December 15, 2025 in his 92nd year. Don, the Italian, beloved and cherished husband of Alice, the ever graceful Irish lady β¦ missing their affection, handholding, their story telling, and dadβs crooning, βWhen Irish Eyes Are Smilingβ. TheirβsΒ was a true love story, married for 69 years. They started dating when Alice was 15, moving from BC to Chatham, where Don became the youngest State Farm manager in Canada.
Loving father of Michelle Lussier (Charlie, 2025), MarkΒ Demore, Michael Demore, and Anne-Marie BreseeΒ Β (Mike). Cherished grandpa of Cynthia Carroll (Daniel), and Matthew and Spencer Bresee. Treasured great grandpa of James, Louie and Alice Carroll. Dear eldest brother of Raymond (2012), James ( 2012) and Dave Demore. Blessed by beautiful warm and loving neighbours and friends.
A leader at an early age, Don will be remembered for his love of family, his generosity, his interest in history, travelling and his enthusiasm for all things hockey. He was captain, playing centre of the Trail Junior Smoke Eaters. Attending Colorado College on a hockey NCAA scholarship, Don graduated with a Masters degree in business. When it came time to retire, Don built his CasaDemore House on the River. As Regional Agency Director of State Farm, Don very much enjoyed the agency he started and expanded.
Don loved his Florida condo- not just for the sunny warm weather,Β but for the wonderful friends and memories made there. Travelling the globe with Alice, often accompanied by dear friends, was among their favourite experiences, sharing their stories with family. Alice making collages of photos, documenting theirΒ great adventures. Only Don would manage to have one of the terracotta life size soldiers shipped from the Forbidden City in China. A very social guy, wherever Don went, a conversation was struck and new friendships were formed. We love you dearly dad. We are so proud of you and all you have accomplished. But mostly, we will always remember your beautiful devotion to our mom.
