DESCHENE, Mathew Marcel Mat Deschene

Mat Deschene of Laurentian Valley, will be sadly missed by his two sons, Braeden & Brodie, and their mother Stephanie; as well as his girlfriend Joanne Schimmens, and her children, Parker and Elisabeth. Cherished son of Marcel Deschene & Julie Guindon; and dear brother of Lindsay Deschene. Also survived by his nephews Jaxon & Hudson; and nieces Hayden & Lexi.

Visitation at the Neville Funeral Home, 491 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Neville Funeral Home, Pembroke on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025 at 11:30 a.m., followed by cremation. A Celebration of Mat’s life will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 170 Ellis Ave, Pembroke. To honour Mat’s memory and his dedication to the fire service, the family asks that donations be made to the Ottawa First Responders Foundation, supporting mental-health programs for firefighters.
