Sloan DesmondSLOAN, Desmond – (Retired – Ottawa Police Force Staff Sergeant) – Peacefully, at Central West Hospice on Monday December 21, 2015 at the age of 85.

Beloved husband of the late Theresa “Terry” Sloan.

Proud father of Todd (Jennifer Walker), Terrence – retired MWO – Canadian Armed Forces (Ronalee), Anne-Marie Barr – Almonte, ON (Bob) and Andrew (Beverley). Loving grandfather of Jessica, T.J. (Tasha), Jody (Darren), Jason, Devin, Megan (James), Michelle, Daniel, Nicholas and Alexander.

Great grandfather of Teala, Hana, JaymeLee, Alyssa, Bryanna and T.J. Jr.

Dear brother of Ben, Clarney, Shirley, Marie and the late Monica, Dorothy and Percy. Son of the late James and Laura (nee Dunnigan) Sloan.

Desmond faithfully served the Ottawa community for 37 years. After retiring he was a member of the executive committee of the Ottawa Police “Golden Club.” Prior to joining the Ottawa Police Force he served in the Canadian Military as a Paratrooper Rigger.

Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home – Carling Chapel, 2313 Carling Avenue, Ottawa on Monday, December 28th from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday to Our Lady of Fatima Church for Mass of Christian Funeral at 10:00 a.m. Interment.
