DEVRIES, Jane DeVries

Jane DeVries, nee Rekker, went home to Jesus on March 26, 2025, at the age of 79.

Jane was born to Gerrit and Dieuwke (Doreen), nee Baron, Rekker, on Feb 5, 1946, in Molenend, Friesland, the Netherlands. At one and a half years of age, September 1947, she moved to Trenton, Ontario, Canada, with her parents and three older siblings, Siebe, John, and Florence. Two more siblings were born in Canada, Ann, and Gary. Jane always loved her family, as a youngster she was adventurous, climbing trees and spending time outside with her dad.

Jane met Stuart through his older sister Pat who was a good friend. They all went to their church young people groups. They married Feb. 5, 1965, and went on to have 5 children, Henry, David, Donald, Cynthia, and Anthony.

Jane was a wonderful welcoming aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Everyone loved coming over on Thursday spaghetti nights, or Saturday homemade pizza evenings. In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, aunt, and sister, Jane loved Maranatha Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed being an usher and welcoming people for church services, always sitting in the same spot. Throughout Jane’s entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared in word and deed with those who surrounded her.

Jane is now enjoying the presence of God and her beloved husband Stuart, son Henry, sister Ann, and her mother and father.

Jane is survived by her daughter-in-law Michelle, sons David, and Donald (Anita); daughter Cynthia (John), and son Anthony (Jenny).

Grandchildren: Nicholas (Jennifer), Brandon (Shaina), Tiffany (Nick), Rueben (Quinleigh), Simeon (Niki), Theo (Brianna), Devan (Jillian), Jeminah (Mitch), Caleb, Jan, Austin (Kendall), Taylynn, and Ayden.
