DEYNEHA, Alexandra Kuzmenko nee Deyneha
December 28, 2025
Passed away peacefully at the age of 102 at Madison Village Long Term Care, on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Her life spanned more than 100years of change, challenge, progress yet she remained a steady presence-rooted in values of resilience, kindness and unwavering love for her family. She was not only a witness to history but a living example of grace, endurance and the power of a life lived with purpose. Cherished lifelong partner and wife of the late Mykola (2011) for 64 years. Devoted and loving mother to the late Nick Jr. (late Moira), late Greg (Deborah), late Peter and Paul (Rosetta). Sadly missed by her grandchildren Christopher (Joanne), Matthew, Peter Jr., Alexandra, and Nico; and god-daughter Larisa (John) Serth and family.
Both Alexandra and Mykola were born in Ukraine. They married in Germany during WWII and after overcoming incredible odds during the years immigrated to Canada from Venezuela in 1952. They settled in Hamilton in 1953 to raise their family and establish their legacy in Canada. Alexandra loved to garden, cook, bake, embroider and enjoy her backyard with friends and family. The family wish to thank our friends and families who supported Alexandra over the years and the staffs of St. Peterβs and Hamilton General Hospitals and Madison Village LTC for their compassionate care.
Visitation at St. Vladimirβs Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 855 Barton St. East, Hamilton, on Friday January 2, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:30 am. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
