DOHERTY, Karen Maureen Doherty

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the sudden passing of Karen Maureen Doherty, age 54 years, of Newcastle, Ontario on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.

Karen was a beloved and cherished Spouse, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She had a sweet soul with a huge loving heart and was known for her warmth, laughter, and kindness to her vast family and many friends. A great lover of animals, her cherished dog Sophie was always by her side.

Karen is survived by her Spouse, Samm Parnell; her Mother, Maureen Willis (Ken, predeceased); her Father, Timothy Doherty (predeceased, Donna); her siblings, Christine Axhorn (Jason), Jennifer Lazary (predeceased), Jeff Willis (Christina), Shannon Weber (Dan), Dwayne Gockel, and Marnie Kennedy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

There will be no formal service. A come-and-go Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Newcastle Funeral Home, 386 Mill St. S., Newcastle, ON.
