DOLDER, Ave Maria Van den Dolder

September 23, 1955 - November 5, 2025
DOLDER, Ave Maria Van den Dolder

passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025 after a brief battle with cancer. She was an exceptionally kind and caring mother, grandmother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend, and will be missed by many. She leaves behind her mother, Paula, two brothers, three sisters, four children and their spouses, eight grandchildren, many devoted friends and Ripley.

Ava was born in Oliver, BC, and was raised on an orchard with her two brothers, Harry and Arvid. After attending UBC, Ava worked and earned her accounting designation all while caring for her growing family. In 1981 she and her husband, Ken, moved to Kamloops, where they raised their four children and spent much of their time enjoying the outdoors. Ava worked at BC Lottery Corporation for many years, and attended Hills of Peace Lutheran Church, to which she was a committed volunteer. She loved camping, travel, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren, who love playing in her garden. Her loss is felt acutely by her family.

Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home, who did their best to make Ava’s last days as comfortable as possible.

Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on November 29th at Hills of Peace Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home.
