GREEN, Dolores Theresa Green Obituary
GREEN, Dolores Theresa – Born to eternal life at the age of 83 on Monday, October 5, 2015 at PRHC.
She is reunited with the love of her life husband Joe and their first born, daughter Rosemary.
Devoted mom of Patricia (Dan) Donnelly, Johanne, Christopher and Andrew Green. Proud grandma of Danielle (Richard DesJardine), Andrea (Kurtis Roy), Matthew and Shannon (Nick Hill) Donnelly, Owen Green and Jackie and Joey Knopp. She was blessed to hold her first great grandchild, Brendan Roy.
Dear sister of Carol (Ron) Price, Cathy (late Errol) Griese, Don (late Suzanne) Pershick and Bob (Arlene) Pershick; predeceased by sisters Rita (late Ken) Boldt, Joannie (late Greg) Griese, Gladys (late John) Kenopic, and brothers Raymond and Bernard.
Dolores will be missed by her sisters-in-law Patricia Green, Audrey (late Johnny) Green, Barbara St. Pierre (late Jeremiah Green), and brother-in-law Gerard Green (late Virginia), predeceased by Kathleen (late Kevin) Kelly and James Green.
Mom enjoyed her many nieces and nephews and visiting her family and friends in the Ottawa Valley.
Her love of children and continuous learning were her strengths. She was a dedicated Catholic elementary school teacher until her retirement. She loved cheering for the Blue Jays – Mom and Dad got great pleasure telling everyone they helped “open the Sky Dome” in 1989. She was hooked as a Jays fan ever since.
We are grateful for the love and support of family and friends, old and new, especially Peggy, Julie, Sister Eileen and Janice. PRHC D2 staff members cared for Dolores with dignity and humor, especially Eileen, Chris and Julia for which mom was very thankful.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held Friday, October 16th at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral fo St. Peter-in-Chains, 411 Reid Street, Peterborough, Ontario. Interment, followed by a celebration of life reception at Ashburnham funeral home, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough.
If desired, donations may be made to Hospice Peterborough or Ovarian Cancer Canada.
“Life is eternal and love immortal and death is only a horizon,
and a horizon is nothing except the limit of our sight.”
