SIMMIE, Donna Marilyn (nee Shute) – Peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, at the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce, on Saturday, December 26, 2015.

Donna Simmie, of Owen Sound, passed away at the age of 67 years.

Dearly loved wife of Robert Simmie.

Loving mother of Colette (Michael) Frezza, of Camlachie, Nicole Simmie and Calvin Simmie, both of Owen Sound. Proud grandmother of Olivia, Adam and Mathew.

Beloved daughter of Edna Shute, of Owen Sound and the late Lorne Shute.

Dear sister of Beverley (Norma) Shute, of Scotland, Ontario, Laverne Shute (Gillian Eiloart), of Orangeville and Gary (Debbie) Shute, of Bognor.

Donna was a respected secondary school teacher who was retired from the Blue Water Board and taught with the Peel, Halton and Brant County Board of Education.

Friends and family may attend at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250-14th Street West, Owen Sound on Friday, January 1st, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Donna Simmie will be held at the First United Church, 435 – 21st Street West, Owen Sound, on Saturday, January 2nd, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kristal McGee officiating. Spring interment at Georgian Bluffs.

The family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce as an expression of sympathy.
