FORGIE, Dorothy Irene  –  

January 16, 1926 – October 26, 2023

Dorothy passed peacefully, with family in her 98th year.

A Toronto native, she was born in St. Clair West to Mason and Gertrude Forgie.

After becoming a registered nurse in 1949 at TGH, she served remote home locations near Dryden and Kenora for several years before returning to Toronto, where she worked as an obstetrics nurse until her retirement.

She then volunteered for Goodwill with estate sales.

Well travelled with a curious mind and sharp wit, she was well read, loved the music of her youth and classical.

She loved the quiet beauty and recreation of cottage life with family and friends, card games, laughter and good food. She was a supporter of Canadian wildlife causes and supported nature conservation.

Predeceased by her parents; sisters, Margaret Bain and Jeannie Mack; and nephew, Bruce Mack.

She will be dearly missed by those who knew her, nephews, Doug (Karen) and Jim (Vi); and good friends, including Audrey and Anar.

Interment service will be Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., following meeting at 10:45 a.m. at Prospect Cemetery office.
