BOYD, Dr. Russell TF –  An entrepreneurial dentist and gemmologist, a passionate Christian, a lover of music, an enthusiastic gardener and a role model for all those he shared his career and faith has left us.

Dr. Russell Thomas Frederick Boyd died peacefully in his 93rd year on December 17, 2015 at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie.

Russell T. Boyd was born as the only child to Joshua (aka Thomas) Frederick Boyd and Mary Eileen Boyd (nee Fowler) on March 8, 1923 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Russell was a compassionate, caring and greatly respected father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather and mentor to many. He is survived by his wife Jean Margaret Boyd (nee Dickey) with whom he recently celebrated 65 years of marriage, his children Jeanette Boyd, twin sons Robert and Warren Boyd and Carolyn (Boyd) Ray and daughters-in-law Juliana Boyd and Christina Zhao, son-in-law Gary Ray, his grandchildren (by Jeanette) Jessica and Kyle Blackman, (by Robert) Alexandra, Graham, Andrew and Michael Boyd, (by Warren) Jonathan Boyd and his wife Ruth, Philip Boyd and his wife Stephanie, Emilie and James Boyd, (by Carolyn) David, Colin and Olivia Ray, by his step- grandchildren Katelyn Dong, Andrea Ray Gleason and husband Kevin Gleason, Maeghan and husband Reg Orton, by his great-grandchildren Erick Boyd, Aaron Boyd, Marlow Gleason and Reginald “Finn” Orton.

Funeral Service will be held in Markham ON, on Tuesday, December 29th. Interment will take the place the next day in a private family ceremony at the family plot near Barrie, Ontario.

As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Christian Medical and Dental Society, which Russell served so faithfully as a volunteer over the years, or to the charity of your choice in Russell’s memory.
