
It is with deep sadness and love that we announce the passing of Raymond James Draper, who left us peacefully on June 29th, 2025, at the age of 80. Born in Northfield (Gracefield), Quebec, he was a Staff Sergeant with the Ottawa Police Service for 30 years.
Predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Lorna (Shaver) and siblings Gwen, Aileen, Ronald, Robert, Betty, Glen, Dorothy and Keith. Ray was an incredibly devoted husband to his wife Wanda Susan Draper (Campbell). They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He was so proud of, and loved by, his children Gary (Alana) and Lorrie (Greg Hayes), and he cherished his grandchildren, Tyler, Abby, Jack, Anna, Isabel and Rose.
He leaves behind his beloved sister Shirley and brother Donald, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and great friends that he loved very much. Born on April 13, 1945, Ray led a life centered on his family and friends. He had a deep love of music and the outdoors. His passing leaves an enormous hole in the lives of everyone who loved him.
The family would like to express deep gratitude to Dr. George Condrut, and the St. Vincent’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the incredible care and support.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Highland Park Cemetery, 2037 McGee Side Rd, Carp on Thursday, July 3rd from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, July 4th, 2025.
