DRINKWATER, Donald Drinkwater

Passed away at the peopleCare Delhi Long Term Care on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at the age of 98. Born in Hagersville, Don was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy for seven years aboard the HMCS Magnificent.  He was President and Life Member of Branch 125 Royal Canadian Legion, Delhi, where he was proudly involved with the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Campaign. Donald was a Member and Secretary-Treasurer of the Delhi Cemetery Board and Volunteer Firefighter for many years.  He served as a Member of the Recreation Committee in the Township of Delhi.    Don was a maintenance contractor for the Norfolk County Board of Education for 30 years and was in charge of many custodians. He showed a strong work ethic in keeping the Norfolk schools clean.  Beloved husband of the Late Della Rose (Blakely) Drinkwater (2015). Loving father of Diane Scherer (Rick) and Dale Drinkwater (Debbie). Cherished grandfather of five grandchildren: Richard (Amanda), Adam (Heather), Michelle (John), Lindsay (Bryan) & Chels and nine great grandchildren: Camryn, Reese, Maeve, Max, Cooper, Addison, Emma, Olivia and Jack. Dearest brother of Marilyn Murray (Mike) and also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Ken Drinkwater (2006). Friends may call at the BRANCH #125 ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION, Delhi on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. for a Celebration of Life Service with a time of reflection and stories at 3:00 p.m. A Private Family Inurnment will be held at Delhi Cemetery.
