DUNLOP, Ronald Dunlop
June 30, 2025
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ron Dunlop at the age of 74. Born on April 24, 1951, Ron was a kind and hardworking man whose kindness, humour, and generosity touched everyone who knew him. He was a devoted husband to Diane for 53 years, a proud father to James (Laurie) and Pamela (Matt), and a loving grandfather to Alexandria, Caleb and Kai. He is also survived by his sisters Barb (Norm) and Karen (Greg), along with the rest of the Dunlop family, cherished friends from his years with the Rainbow School Board, and the wonderful neighbours on Isabelle Street. Ron was the kind of man who always showed up, whether it was shoveling a neighbour’s driveway, lending a hand with a friend’s DIY job, or driving his grandson to every hockey practice. He loved to laugh, joke with the neighbours, and sneak in a couple more beers after “last call” had already been called. In his spare time, he crafted beautiful birdhouses and wood carvings, took pride in his home projects, enjoyed blueberry picking for friends & family and loved nothing more than cruising around in his 1979 Stingray Corvette. He lived life with heart and humour and now reunites with his loving parents, Cam and Eileen, and his brother, Donald. His memory will live on in the laughter he sparked, the generosity he shared, and the legacy of kindness he leaves behind.
A heartfelt thank you to the incredible health care professionals at Health Sciences North for their care during Ron’s final hours, and to the neighbours whose support has meant so much to our family.
We will be holding a celebration of life at a later date.
