DYK, Hendrikje van Dyk

Passed away peacefully at Telfer Place on Monday April 27th, 2026.  Hennie was in her 92nd year.  She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas van Dyk.  Cherished mother of Adrianus (Maria), Alberta ‘Elly’, Nicholas (Dana), and Henrietta ‘Ria’ (Adrian).  Forever loved Oma to Christopher, Nicole, Natalie, Nadine, Adrianna, Christine, Katrina, Jessica, Nicholas Jr., Jan, and Alissa.  Hennie will be dearly missed by her 9 siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends.  She was predeceased by two siblings.

Hendrikje van Dyk was known as a social butterfly.  She loved a good social get together, especially dances at the German Hall.  She was always willing to help someone in need.  She gave selflessly of her time to many volunteer endeavours, most notably to the local soup kitchen and thrift store.  Hennie was a great contributor to her church family and a dedicated choir member.  In her free time, she loved to camp and travel with her late husband Nicholas.  She was a talented crocheter and would often finish a crochet project while watching the hockey game.

Friends will be welcomed at the Dwayne D. Budgell Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Rd., Paris, ON, on Thursday April 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 p.m.  A Graveside interment at Paris Cemetery will follow the service.  In Hennie’s memory donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
