EBY, William Howard Eby

Passed away with his wife by his side on November 21, 2025 at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa after a battle with cancer.

Lovingly remembered by his wife Laura Suchan, step-sons Dylon and Tyler Angi, brother Robert Eby (Gail), cousin Denise Ladouceur (John) and many friends and relatives. Predeceased by his parents Howard and Hildred Eby.

Bill was many things to many people. To his students he was a long serving secondary school teacher in Barrie who had a knack for making math and science learning fun. He so loved teaching that after retirement he continued to have a very busy schedule tutoring students in math, chemistry and physics.

To his soul mate Laura he was an “Ultra Match”, a safe harbour, a supportive partner and the sun, the moon and the stars. Together they enjoyed quiet evenings at home, a game of Jeopardy, books and travels to Europe, especially to Paris their favourite city.

Bill’s talents and interests were many. He loved reading especially books about Sherlock Holmes or a good mystery. He was a talented writer having written books and short stories as well as countless poems. He loved to draw and was always quick to provide a sketch or illustration for cards or notes to friends. Bill had a busy career as a mystery shopper, something he enjoyed and at which he excelled. Music was an important part of his life and he relished creating, playing and listening to all kinds of music especially from the 1970s and 1980s.

Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Lakeridge Health Oshawa that provided such wonderful care to Bill and support to Laura.

Nothing lasts forever so remember to love more, hold closer, and hug them tight and often.
