ECKHOFF, Shayne Eckhoff

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Shayne Eckhoff, born May 25, 1988, who left us far too soon at the age of 37 on September 11, 2025.

Beloved son of Darlene Houde and Audie Eckhoff. Dear brother of Joy Mikalishen (Byron) and Lennon Berard (Celine). Loved by his step-parents, Dana Lantendresse and Micheline Robitaille. Step-brother to Joel Robitaille and Mathieux Robitaille. Grandson to Wayne Houde (Nancy).

Shayne was loved by many aunts and uncles: Dolorèse Butterworth (Dan), Pierre Houde (Leann), Jean-Guy Houde (Cathy), Rick Eckhoff, Cynthia Humeniuk, Preston Beaudoin, Jerry Eckhoff and Miranda Eckhoff.

He will also be missed by his loving cousins, Stacie Cox (Jake), Danny Butterworth (Alana), Zachary Carcasole (Natasha), Catherine Houde-Laliberté (Fanny), Soleil Houde (Jordan), Alexandra Porter (Joel), Renée Allaire, Lou Houde, Dalton Houde, Keith, Adam, Keri Lynn, Zachary and Dean.

Predeceased by his mémère, Louise Houde, his grandma, Yvette Humeniuk, his papa, Randolph Eckhoff, and his uncle, James Eckhoff.

Shayne will be fondly remembered for his love of cooking, his appreciation of nature and animals, and his passion for sketching. His laughter and radiant smile could light up any room, bringing joy to all who were near. Always proud of his appearance, Shayne carried himself with style and remained impeccably groomed until the very end. Generous, funny, outgoing, and passionate, he cared deeply for others and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Though his journey was marked by struggles that weighed heavily on him, we take comfort in knowing that Shayne is now at peace, free from the suffering he so bravely endured.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to the 705 Risk Takers would be greatly appreciated in Shayne’s memory.
