MAJOR, Edward John – July 26, 1926 – December 27, 2015

Passed peacefully with his family by his side at Tilbury Manor.

Beloved husband of 62 years to his late wife Louise (nee Gagnon)(2013). Loving father of Maureen (Jay) Hobbs, Gregory (Barbara), Mark, Jerome (Jill), Joe, Jim, Chris (Joanne) and Tim. Dear grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. Son of the late William and Loma Major (nee Delisle). Son-in-law of the late Joseph and Roseanna Gagnon (nee Paquin).

Survived by sister in law Pat (Harry) Major, sister Lee Beaumont and brother Bill (Marilyn).

Edward was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces and a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Knights of Columbus.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial Mass to be held at St. Francis Xavier Church, Tilbury on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers donation to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated.

The entire family of Edward would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Bryan and Dr. Dhaliwal from the Tilbury Health Team and Fr. Robert Champagne (Visitation Parish, Comber, ON) and Fr. Peter Amszej (St. Francis Xavier Parish, Tilbury, ON) for the care and attention that they gave to our father. Lastly we give a very special thank you to all the nurses and staff of Tilbury Manor for all the attention, care, and love that they gave to our father in these last six months.
