EDWARD,Allan Edward

With broken hearts, the family of Allan Edward Steers regretfully announces his sudden passing on Sunday September 14, 2025, in his 85th year. Predeceased by his loving wife, Frances Steers, his parents George and Florence Steers, father-in-law and mother-in-law Hugh and Gladys Sibbett, brothers William, George, Douglas and David Steers and sisters Florence Lundy, Edna Coles and Carol Travis. Survived by son Edward (Elaine) Steers and daughter Linda (Terry) Bacon, grandchildren Alex (Hillary) Steers, Jessica (Aaron) Beally, Chase (Emma-Rose) Barber and Zachary Barber, great-grandson Nash Beally and sisters Sharon (Paul) Beauvais and Elaine (Perry) Burns. Allan was deeply loved and will be missed by his in-laws, Marilyn Giroux, Marsha (Peter) Jackson, Glen (Cathy) Sibbett, Cathy (Phil) Stephenson and Sam Travis, as well as many nieces and nephews from both the Steers and Sibbett families. Al (Bow) and Frankie were high-school sweethearts who married in 1963. Mom passed away in 2016 and Dad heroically tended to her care during her 4 year decline. After 9 long years he is finally reunited with his wife, who was the love of his life. Retired in 1999 from Atlas Specialty Steels after 37 years, Dad spent many wonderful retirement years helping his friends and his family in any way he could. Always dependable, reliable, honest and kind, he was a man of integrity, generosity and laughter, a true gentleman and an amazing role model, instilling these traits in his family. He was a meticulous builder and mechanic, who passionately maintained every vehicle he’s ever owned, rarely parting with any of them, and with every project completed to the best of his ability. His other passion, driving every day down every back road in Niagara and Haldimand, racking up over a million kilometers in his vehicles over the years. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, September 18, at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. in the Cudney Chapel. Interment to follow in Fonthill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated by the Steers Family.
