VOUVALIDIS , Efrosini Vouvalidis

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Efrosini Vouvalidis (née Kapsalis). Surrounded by her family, Efrosini passed away peacefully at University Hospital on July 12th, 2025, in her 96th year.

Beloved wife of George, with whom she shared 64 wonderful years. Loving mother of John Vouvalidis (Heather) and Gus Vouvalidis (Tracy). The best YiaYia to her cherished grandchildren Erik and Jennifer.

Born on April 16, 1930, in Paleopanagia, Sparta, Greece, Efrosini grew up during the depression, World War II, and the Greek civil war. In March 1955, with incredible courage, she boarded the ocean liner NEA HELLAS and set sail for Canada. After living in Windsor and overcoming a health challenge, she settled in London, Ontario. She returned to Greece in 1961 to visit family, where she met and married George just 21 days later.

Through hard work, sacrifice, and determination, Efrosini and George built a loving home on Piccadilly Street. Known for her hospitality, delicious Greek cuisine, and storytelling, Efrosini was happiest surrounded by family and friends. She also loved her gardens and needlepoint.

Efrosini was predeceased by her siblings Konstantina, Nicholas, and Sarantos. She will be deeply missed by the extended Kapsalis and Vouvalidis families and remembered for her unwavering love, warmth, and enduring spirit.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 16th, 2025, from 6–8 pm at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street, London. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 17th, 2025, at 10 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, followed by interment at Woodland Cemetery.

In memory of Efrosini, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. A tree will be planted by the Logan Funeral Home as a living tribute.
