HILL, Eileen   –  February 2, 1928 – January 1, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Hill (née Benwell) on Monday, January 1, 2023, in her 95th year at Markham Stouffville Hospital.

Loving wife of Gordon John Hill (predeceased 1998); beloved mother to Gordon Wayne Hill (predeceased 2017), Lorne Alexander Hill and Geraldine “Josie” Paula Culbert; mother-in-law to Christine Hill, Joanie Hill and Kevin Culbert; proud grandmother to Carly Hill (James Ramsay), Riley Hill (Laura Hill), Geordie Hill and Caelyn Hill; and great-grandmother to Briggs Ramsey, Hailee Hill, Taylor Hill, Hayden Ramsay and Avery Ramsay.

Eileen’s artistic talents included silk painting, water colours, gardening, sewing and knitting.

Devoted to her family, she loved hosting gatherings and visiting with the grandkids!

The family would like to give a special shoutout to the doctors and nurses at Markham Stouffville Hospital for their kind, respectful care and compassion; as well as the entire staff at Stouffville Creek Retirement Residence for their care during the past four years.

Funeral Services will be held at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street, North, Markham, Ontario L3P-1Y3, on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with a ceremony to follow at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
