JENSEN, Elizabeth “Betty” Jane Jensen

JENSEN, Elizabeth “Betty” Jane (nee KEMP)  –  Passed away peacefully, with family at her side in Hamilton, on March 5, 2024, at the age of 82.

Eldest daughter of the late George Michael and Ivy Kemp, Betty was born August 26, 1941 in Toronto.

Betty is lovingly remembered by Freddy, her devoted husband of 61 years; as well as her son, Peter (Meredith); and is Nana to Paul, Luke, Margaret and Thomas.

She is also survived by her siblings, Donald Kemp, Diane Jackson, William Kemp (Carolyn) and Robert Kemp.

Betty started working for the Toronto Fire Department at the age of 16 and retired in 1992 after 35 years and 1 day’s service.

She will be remembered for her sweet and gentle demeanor and her beaming smile. Special thanks to the staff at the Village of Wentworth Heights for their care and compassion in Betty’s final years.

Visitation will be held at P. X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave., Hamilton, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. A future interment will be held in Puslinch, ON.
