MacNAMARA, Ellen ‘Ellie’ (GRAINGER) MacNamara, Obituary
MacNAMARA, Ellen ‘Ellie’ (nee GRAINGER) – September 20, 1930 – December 16, 2015
In her 85th year, Ellie died peacefully at her home in Post Inn Village, Oakville.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Fred, their precious daughter Jodie and her much loved siblings Mollie, Joan, Jack, Bill, Monica and Anne.
Will be dearly missed and always cherished by her children Johnny (the late Susan), Joanne (Steve), Kathleen (the late Ralph), Jill (Brian), her grandchildren Amy (Richard), Jordan (Veronique), Shane (Xandrah), Zachary (Yassira), her great-grandson Ryder and all her much loved nieces, nephews and friends.
Mom always said she had a great life and she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. ‘Her way’ was love, kindness, laughter, intuitive listening and courage of conviction with limitless support, encouragement and empathy.
It was Mom’s wish to be cremated with no visitation or service.
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton, Acclaim Health, or a favourite charity in Mom’s memory would be a lovely gesture.
A special thank you is extended to the loving and dedicated family of caregivers and staff at Post Inn Village and to Dr. Peter Eddenden for so many years of care and understanding.
