Robert John “Bob” Ellis, a beloved resident of Dresden, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Chatham-Kent Hospice. Bob was born in Chatham and was the devoted husband of Glenda for 58 years. He was a loving father, proud grandfather of seven, and cherished brother and friend.

For 48 years, Bob owned and operated Ellis Motors, working alongside his sons and grandson. His values of honesty, dedication, and community service left a lasting legacy. Known for his deep ties to Dresden, Bob was a mentor, coach, and friend to many, sharing his joy for life through sports, family gatherings, and coffee with friends.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service and interment in Dresden Cemetery will be held. A celebration of life will follow at a later date. Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or Royal Canadian Legion Branch 113, Dresden.
