With family by his side, Elmer passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, at the age of 94.

Beloved husband of Ethel (Leis) for a blessed 72 years. Cherished father of Donna (Murray Ziegler), Larry (Carolynne Howald), Sharon (Paul Rhodes). Much loved Grandfather of Erin, Lisa, Jason, Jarrett, Josh, Tess and Adrian. Special great grandfather of Nic, Payton, Eloise, Jillian, Liam, Layne, Katie, Aiden and Lyla.

Elmer was the son of Moses and Fannie (Lichti) and the last surviving member of his family: d. John (d. Esther), d. Emma (d. Allan Wagler), d. Mary (d. Amos Gerber), d. Laura (d. Elmer Jantzi), d. Norman (Amy), d. Jacob (Alma), d. Esther (Ohmer Jantzi).

Relatives and friends are invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Steinmann Mennonite Church, 1316 Snyders Road West, Baden, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastors Louise Wideman and Ben Cassels officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. For those unable to attend, a live stream of the service will be available on the church website.
