Deborah Lee Elsom, 66 years of age, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2025 surrounded by family and friends at Brightshores hospital in Owen Sound, after a more than four-year courageous battle against cancer.
Deborah was born on January 22, 1959 in Leamington Ontario, the daughter of the late Bud Elsom and Audrey Sovie. Her absence will be deeply felt by her younger sisters, Dana Elsom (Paul Ritchie), and Denise Elsom-Bissett (Jim Bissett). Deborah is survived by and will be missed beyond measure by her life partner of 42 years, Bill Lewis, and her daughter and best friend, Madison Elsom-Lewis, age 31.

She worked and was well respected by many, as a financial advisor for TD Canada Trust Owen Sound, and retired as such after her diagnosis. Deborah was an amazing mother, and an outstanding friend to many. Her love, bravery and spirit will have a lasting impact on all of those who knew her.
Deborah’s memory will be profoundly cherished by sister-in-law Nancy Lewis-Brook (Steve Brook), and brother-in-law Roger Lewis (Joy Bowman). She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the hospital staff of Brightshores Health Centre in Owen Sound, and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, for all of their care, kindness and compassion throughout Deborah’s battle against cancer.
