ESPANOLA, Elizabeth Coe of Espanola

Who made it very clear she was not an Elizabeth, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, at the age of 84.

Born in Cobourg, Dawn made Espanola her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard (Dick) Coe and loving mom to Cheryl and to the late Richard. She was Grandma to Sean (Taylor) and Avery (Jean Yves), and Gigi to Laine, Luella, and Austin, her little sunshines who always made her smile.

She was the daughter of Harry and Eleanor Gladden, and sister to Winkie Lloyd (Doug) and Frank Gladden (Marg). She is remembered with love by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and the beloved Coe family.

Dawn lived a long and full life. She loved the simple things, her cats close by, a comfortable home, and a good laugh with the people she cared about. She loved to travel and enjoyed seeing new places, especially when she could share those experiences with family. She had a way of bringing lightness and laughter into everyday moments.

She was grateful for the friends who remained part of her life, near or far, especially her dear friend Elaine, whose friendship was always cherished.

Above all, Dawn was deeply proud of her family. Being a mother, a grandmother, and a Gigi meant everything to her. She was a wonderful mom, a memorable and fun grandma, and a Gigi who made little ones feel seen, heard, and loved.

Dawn leaves behind a family who adored her and will carry her love forward in all they do. Her warmth, her laugh, and her gentle presence will be missed every single day.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr Ainslie and the Espanola Palliative Care Team. Thank you to the staff at the Espanola Hospital including nursing, physicians, housekeeping, dietary, laboratory, and diagnostic imaging for your exceptional care, kindness, and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Espanola Black Creek Hiking Trail, a place that brought her peace and joy, would be appreciated.
