FAMBEGBE, Ayoola Fambegbe

She was born on the 4th day of January 1965 to the good and loving home of Chief Simeon Oluwamuyemi and his wife Gladys Abeni (nee Fawehinmi) in Lagos Nigeria.

He was the third born of the family. He had two elder brothers and a sister. Robbie was the reserved and brainy one of the family. He loved Sports and reading, mostly science fiction.

He attended nursery and primary school early at Fountain School, Adelabu. Surulere, Lagos. He was a first tier student all through his formative years of education. Baptist Academy at Obanikoro, Lagos was his Alma Mater for the first 3years of secondary schooling. When the family moved to Ondo town, he also had to follow his 2 senior brothers to boarding school at Federal Government College, Ilorin. Here, he completed his School Certificate Ordinary levels brilliantly and chose to complete his Advanced levels at City of Dublin College, Ireland. He returned to Nigeria two years later to study Medicine at the renowned Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

Robbie graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with honours.

He served NYSC and completed his house-manship at the iconic UCH teaching hospital in Ibadan. For a few years after that, he worked at various public hospitals in Lagos mainland.

Like others in his generation, he chose to emigrate to the USA, then to Canada in the early 2000s. Robbie’s life and love for country has been Canada since then. He however, met and married his university sweet heart Toyin Fambegbe (nee Akindoju) before departing the shores of Nigeria. Their blissful marriage produced 3 children, Pukky, Posi and Pekun.

In Canada, his career in medicine encountered a few challenges and difficulties; whilst trying to transition his Nigerian qualifications.

In the interim therefore, he got certified and registered as a Critical Care Nurse. After a few years, he combined this with a profession in Real Estate Sales.

Robbie is a down to earth regular guy who loved meeting people and making friends. He loved reaching out and helping his extended families of FAMBEGBEs and FAWEHINMIs. He supported various charitable organizations, both locally in Canada and abroad in Nigeria, Rwanda and South Africa.

Robbie is survived by his adorable wife of over 30 years and three lovely children. We praise Almighty God and give thanks for his life. Though, his death has come at least 15 years too soon, our GOD knows best. In Spirit and Truth, We Adore and Worship HIS HOLY NAME. Robbie remains in our hearts forever.
