FARRUGGIA, Francesco Frank Farruggia

December 8, 1939 - October 9, 2025
FARRUGGIA, Francesco Frank Farruggia

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father and nonno, Frank, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 85 on October 9th, 2025.

Frank will be reunited with his loving wife Carmelina who passed away in 1994.  Devoted and loving father of Franci (Phil), Dino (Priscilla) and Carm.  Cherished and loving nonno of Mateo, Christian, Franco, Dante, Alessandro and Maya.

Predeceased by his parents Raimondo and Francesca Farruggia, in-laws Carmelo and Giuseppina LaRosa, sister Rosalia (Salvatore Baiardo) and brother Salvatore (Gianna) in Sicily. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Giovanna (the late Carmelo Cacciatore) and Vincenza (Salvatore Cacciatore).

Frank will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, Italy and Switzerland.

Born and raised in Aragona, Sicily, at the age of 15, Frank left his beloved hometown, and his travels took him throughout Europe.  After years of working in various countries he returned to Sicily where he met and married the love of his life Carmelina.  They later immigrated to Canada where they settled in Hamilton and started their family.

After 26 years of marriage Frank lost the love of his life.  He devoted his life to raising his children and was later blessed with six grandchildren who he loved more than life itself.  You could often find Frank on the bocce court or playing cards at “the club.”  Frank leaves a legacy of strength, laughter and love.  He taught us the value of perseverance, the importance of togetherness and the simple joy of living life to the fullest.  He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 14th, 2025 from 2pm-4pm and 5pm-8pm at the Friscolanti Funeral Chapel located at 43 Barton Street East, Hamilton.  Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday October 15th, 2025 at 10:00 am at Regina Mundi Parish in Hamilton.  Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Burlington.

Donations can be made to any charity of choice.

Forever in our hearts and always in our prayers.
Per sempre nei nostri cuori
