DUCHARME, Fergus A. MD, MCh Orth, FRCSC – (May 5, 1923 – September 23, 2015) Fergus left us on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 after 92 full years. He died in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, BC.

Loved for his engaging personality, his spirit and his joie de vivre, he was a passionate trailblazer in every aspect of his life – from the innovations he leaves behind in his life-long love, orthopedic surgery, to legendary rides he organized on Alexander Mackenzie’s trail in BC, to his incomparable story telling.

He was predeceased by his sister Lorraine, his brother George (Simone) and his youngest son Andre (Adele). He is missed by his wife Josephine, his sons Fergus (Rose), Pierre (Allison), Marc (Kathleen), Robert (Monique), Camille (Janet), ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many nephews and nieces and all of his friends and colleagues with special acknowledgement to his life-long friend Louis Desmarais.

We are privileged to have been part of his remarkable journey and offer special thanks to Josephine.

There will be a Ceremony celebrating his life on the afternoon of October 16th at the Inn of the North in Prince George, BC from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
