FERRIS, Beverly Lynn Ferris

Passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025 at home. She was born on April 18, 1954 to Marilyn Wood (Bob) and Richard Ferris, also of London, Ontario. She is survived by her husband, Gary Kooistra, brother Bob (Joan) and youngest sister Katherine (Peter). She is preceded in death by her father Bob and younger sister Barb. Bev had no children of her own however took great pleasure in the success of her 3 nieces, Carol, Emily and Sarah.

Bev was a warrior in every sense of the word. Throughout her life, she faced every challenge with determination, courage and a bold “in your face attitude” that inspired everyone who knew her. Her husband Gary remained faithfully by her side every step of the way. Her career was marked by dedication and compassion; she worked at the Mayo Clinic and operated her own successful business. Her greatest passion was always her love of animals. Bev was deeply involved in various kennel clubs and devoted much of her life raising and showing champion dog breeds with a special fondness for Chinese Cresteds.

Clever, witty, and fiercely loyal, Bev built lifelong friendships through her involvement in advocacy groups that championed accessibility and the removal of barriers for people with disabilities. Her voice and efforts made a lasting difference in her community. Bev and Gary shared a life full of adventure, travel and lived in Arizona, New York, and Washington before returning to Canada to enjoy their retirement. Bev will be remembered for her strength, humour and indomitable spirit that defined her life.

Memorial contributions may be made in honour of Bev to the Cancer Society, Diabetes Canada or to a favourite charity of the donor’s choice.
