March 6, 1960 - September 25, 2025
FINLAY, Lisa Margaret Finlay

devoted wife, loving mother, animal lover, and successful business owner who led an active life for more than 65 years, passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in the early morning hours of September 25, 2025.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, in March 1960, Lisa spent her early years as a successful equestrian competitor, and later, a sports car and motorcycle enthusiast who would regularly be seen in her Lotus-inspired Super 7, on her Ducati Diavel, Triumph America or Can Am Spyder and more recently in her Pontiac Solstice GTX. She was a successful dog breeder, competing in Canada and the USA, achieving Championship and Grand Championship status with a number of her Silken Windhounds, while she managed her dog breeding operation to help evolve the Silken breeding pool, and also serviced clients in her medical dictation practice.

Lisa had been raised in Don Mills, spending summers at the family cottage on Lake Muskoka, and she raised her children to enjoy the same.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bob, their children Jon and Chris, and their current menagerie of Silken Windhounds: Willow and Minett.

The family would like to thank Dr John Kuruvilla’s team at Princess Margaret Hospital and Drs. Shattner, Dixon, Aziz, Jiang and Soares at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for assisting Lisa in making her journey as comfortable as possible.

A private family gathering to celebrate Lisa’s life will be held at a future date.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests donating to Lakeridge Health Foundation – Cancer Care.
